ASIST – Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
LivingWorks ASIST is an internationally standardized program that can help you to be comfortable and confident in supporting a person experiencing thoughts of suicide.
ASIST provides easy to understand suicide first aid skills, and a step-by-step, “Pathway to Assisting Life”, connecting people to plans and resources designed to keep them safe from suicide.
People who struggle with thoughts of suicide typically seek help and understanding first from their friends, family, teachers, coaches, co-workers, supervisors, clergy, etc. – People just like you!

OBJECTIVES:
ASIST is designed to provide individuals with the skills to:
• learn a 6-task suicide first-aid intervention model
• work with a person with thoughts of suicide to develop a personalized safety plan to keep them “safe-for-now”
• connect a person with thoughts of suicide with further help
• through presentations, interactive discussion, and feature videos, with skills practice in trainer-facilitated workgroups.
COST: $ 325.00
• 2 full days, 8:30am – 4:30pm and must be attended consecutively); In-person only
• Morning and afternoon refreshments provided/lunch not included
AUDIENCE:
ASIST is designed for individuals and professionals who may encounter situations involving suicide risk in their personal or work lives. It is particularly valuable for those working to support anyone seeking to act on suicidal behaviour, including first responders, health professionals and mental health and addiction workers. (18+)
